Wow you guys I love contouring. My face shape has always been somewhat wonky and I feel 100% better about how I look when I do even just a little (or a lot) of contouring and concealing in the morning.
I've looked at about a million tutorials, I like the one below
from Oncewed.com, but honestly I feel like a little winging-it is okay so long as you're not winging it for a wedding or interview or something aaaanyway -
I bought myself a present recently and it just came yesterday I'm so excited. I got the Crown Brush concealer palette from Hautelook and used it for a fancy bit of contouring this morning, as well as FINALLY feeling like I look like I've slept at all in the last 97 years (I have really dark purple circles and bags under my eyes, constantly) and I'm really, really happy with it.
So - for the purple-ish black bags and circles under and around my eyes, I used the yellow (to neutralize blue) and the peach right beneath it afterwards to blend it in with the blush I use on my cheekbones. I also lined the bottom of my lash line (below the lashes) with the white concealer. It looked crazy for a few minutes and after I blended, I looked wide awake.
I also used the DARK brown in the lower right hand corner on the sides of my nose, blending down, away from the bridge of my nose, with the lightest beige color (2nd column, top row, Battleship) down the middle of my nose and around my lips. The rest of my normal makeup is: ELF's medium cream foundation (mixed with moisturizer), a darker shade of powder foundation from Bare Essentials (below my cheekbones in a c-shape from the corner of my eye to the corner of my lip), and black cream liner (if anyone wants to teach me to do a proper wing on my weird eyes, lmk) on my lids and eyebrows.
Everything else I futzed around with looked ridiculous and got wiped off but...
The first picture is me and my bags, literally the moment I woke up the other day. This serves as my make-up-less example of what my face looks like.
The second is me yesterday, having done my makeup BEFORE owning the Crown Brush concealer palette.
And finally, the third picture is me, today, having done my afore-described new makeup routine with the concealer palette. I am a BIG fan
UPDATE: Today I committed what I usually assume is a cardinal sin of makeup but is now my daily makeup routine because of how good it came. Most tutorials I find say to do concealer AFTER your foundation. Today, I applied my concealer BEFORE my foundation, and patted more than blended foundation on top. My saggy bags have never looked better.
Please forgive my weird face, it is always weird but here I was chewing gum.
